Austin is a lot of fun, good shows always come through, it's mega slow compared to a normal city because basically everyone is stoned all the time. There is a significant amount of diversity and basically everyone gets along. It's easy to avoid hipsters(which there are a lot of) and there are lots of drugs all around you to get your hands on. I would say there is a really good psych, stoner, experimental following here. It's at least worth a visit.
